The Fayette County
School System consistently ranks as one of the top educational
systems in Georgia. The system-wide teacher/pupil ratio is lower than the
state average, and more than 50 percent of the teaching staff have earned
advanced degrees.
Fayette County students consistently perform at, or near, the top in all
categories of standardized testing in the state and well above the national
average. About 94 percent of high school graduates in the county go on
to higher education with more than 87 percent choosing colleges and universities
and almost 7 percent going to vocational schools or community colleges.
